OK- so you're the lucky one that got elected "Team Mom". What are you expected to do? A veteran team mom was nice enough to share information and help you prepare for what's in store for you.

Your Duties:

- Creating and passing out a roster list with all player's names, numbers, parent's name and contact info. and emergency phone number list.
-Organizing the homecoming float for your team.Start early in the season so you won’t be rushed at the last minute. You will need to find a volunteer to drive the float and obtain a trailer for the float. Don't worry someone on team will own one!
-Collect money and generate fundraisers for the players names to be on the jerseys, end-of-year team party, coaches gifts, and cheerleader gifts for homecoming.
-Help pass out uniforms.
-Email or Call parents with updates or any changes. for example: picture info.,  fundraisers, end of the year party, practice cancellation

-Communicating with the Head Coach about team matters

Duties you will Delegate:

Concession Stand Duty - Each team will be responsible for working the concession stand when your team has a home game. You usually will be scheduled to work right before or after your game . You will need to organize a schedule with 2-3 parents for the time your team is responsible to work the concession.

Snacks List- Every game needs to have halftime and post-game snacks .You will need to create a list to organize which parents will be expected to bring snacks to each game. It is easier for everyone if you make a list with your game date and assign your parents to a date.
( Example: parent 1 Oranges at half time and parent 2  drinks for after the game.)

Other Tips and Advice:

-You can always get with other team mom’s and ask for tips or advice.

-Some things to keep in mind when dealing with your parents:
Remember that this is a volunteer organization and sometimes things will go wrong. Attitude is everything.
Encourage your parents to volunteer and give input on any ideas they have.
