Superbowl Bound!

For the first time in Burleson Boys and Girls club history, we will be sending not1, not 2, but 3 teams to the Brazos Valley Superbowl!!! In the Bantam Division, coach Andy Barrett's defending Superbowl Champion team puts their undefeated mark up against an undefeated Crowley team. The Minor Division will feature a matchup between coach Bobby Martin's team who will also face Crowley, looking to redeem themselves after a 6-0 defeat in last year's Superbowl. In the Major Division, Coach John Mueller will challenge Joshua for Superbowl glory.
It is very special indeed to have a team from each division representing your town in the Superbowl. To celebrate this special occasion, a pre-game party was held with all 3 teams to get the boys pumped up for the big game. The teams will be riding to the Brazos Valley Superbowl, held in Kennedale High School, in style. A Hummer Limo has been rented to transport the players and cheerleaders to the big game. The games will take place at Kennedale High School Stadium with the Bantams playing at 4pm., the Minors playing at 6pm., and the Majors playing at 8pm. Please come out and support these teams as they try and take home Superbowl Championships! |

Superbowl Champs
The Bantam 1 Elks capped off a great regular season with a Brazos Valley Superbowl victory! The team finished the season with an 11-1 record. The one loss came from Kennedale who lost the rematch in the American Conference Championship Game. The Superbowl game featured the Hillsboro Eagles who came into the Superbowl on an 8 game winning streak The game's first touchdown was scored by Elk's quarterback, Landon Whitley. The Elks took an 8-0 lead into the 2nd quarter when Hillsboro struck with a 30 yard td run. The Elks had an opportunity to extend their lead before halftime, but ran out of time on the 3 yard line. The second half was all Burleson as the Elks controlled the ball for the entire 3rd quarter and then Whitley scored about a minute into the 4th quarter to extend the Elks lead to 16-6. After a 4 and out, the Elks once again scored making it 24-6 with less than 2 minutes remaining. That's how the game ended leaving the Bantam 1 Elks as the champions.
Coach Andy Barrett's Bantam 1 Elks were joined by coach Curtis Mickey's Bantam 2 and Chad Freeman's Bantam 3 teams as playoff teams. The Bantam 3 team won their 1st round game over Midlothian but lost to Burleson 1 in round 2. The Bantam 2 team advanced to the National Conference Championship game after defeating Midlothian 2, but were defeated by the Hillsboro Eagles for the right to play in the Brazos Valley Superbowl. With all this success in the Bantam division, the future looks bright for the Elks.
